Buckeye Partners (BPL) announced Friday that it has entered into a definitive agreement with BP Products North America (BP) and its affiliates to acquire 33 refined petroleum products terminals with total storage capacity of more than 10 million barrels and approximately 1000 miles of refined petroleum products pipelines. The total transaction purchase price will be 5 million. According to the company, the acquisition will further extend its operations into key geographic markets. The terminal and pipeline assets are located in the midwestern, southeastern and western United States. The acquisition includes BP's approximately 50% interest in Inland (IRC), which represents million of the total transaction purchase price. It will be subject to IRC's other shareholders' existing rights of first refusal. BPL expects the acquisition to close in the second quarter of 2011. Shares of BPL are up 0.78% to .48.
