If you do a Google search on the phrase "does affiliate marketing work", you will get over 21 million results. This alone reveals the fact that everyone wants to know whether or not they can make it successful. Affiliate marketing has been around for years, but since the economic recession began and millions of people have lost their jobs, interest in it has skyrocketed. So, how does a novice website builder become a successful affiliate marketer?
Unfortunately, there is no tried and true method. Let me reword that. There is no tried and true affiliate marketing method that a successful affiliate marketer cares to share. There are successful affiliate marketers out there, even in this economy, but they won't tell you specifically how they became successful. Many of them are selling affiliate marketing success packages or affiliate marketing websites.
They make money this way because quite frankly, there are a lot of desperate unemployed people out there.I have and am still making every effort to be a success at affiliate marketing, without the use of packaged instructions or a pre-packaged website. I am not yet successful, but the single most important thing that I recognize is the fact that I cannot quit. I am likely one of the newest newbies at this endeavor, but given the current job market, what have I got to lose? Even if I were to find a great paying job tomorrow, I still would not quit working towards success in affiliate marketing. This is because there are three things that a newbie must have even through failure: desire, drive, and determination.
How strong is your desire to be successful? Give some thought to your future. Is affiliate marketing simply an attempt for you? Do you have plans to get a "real" job at some point? If you view an affiliate marketing endeavor as something you plan to do in the interim, then you may as well not even begin. I'm convinced that the endeavor must be viewed as long-term and it must be viewed as a full-time job. You will not start out making a ton of money, certainly not enough money to cover the salary you'd receive from a "real" job, but you have to have a strong desire to reach your monetary goals, no matter what they are.
Are you driven? Are you prepared to research, learn, try, fail, research again, learn again, try again, fail again, and so on and so on? You have to be dedicated to your affiliate marketing endeavor and you have to be willing and eager to devote the time it will take. When you're tired of failing and you're on the verge of giving up, you have to pick yourself up and move forward. Keep moving forward no matter what. If you cannot do this, then you may as well not even begin.
Do you have the determination necessary for the task? When you check your commissions, will seeing a big, fat zero deter you? Or will seeing that big, fat zero make you even more determined to figure out how to turn things around? You may find that starting over or reworking your plan seems more like your career for a long time. But, if you're determined to make affiliate marketing work for you, then you'll start over or rework your plan. If you cannot do this, then you may as well not even begin. I've started over and reworked. Every newbie has started over and reworked. The ones who have determination will do this as many times as it takes. Your goal to be a success must always remain in view.
Affiliate Marketing is not for everyone. This is the number one truth. It's also true that in today's world, there will be far more failures than successes. But, if you have a strong desire to succeed, the drive to do whatever it takes even when you fail, and the determination to figure things out, your chances for affiliate marketing success will be far greater.
